About Us

The Foothills Amateur Radio Club was founded in 1995. Located in Pickens County of South Carolina, the club has an active membership of hams that have a wide interest in the hobby.

The purpose of the club is to promote amateur radio and to assist in emergency communications whenever the need arises. We are now an ARRL affiliated club.

Our members are active in DX, contesting, building projects and repeater building.


We have 2 repeaters located on Six Mile Mountain in central Pickens County
